2nd night in a row my daughter and I have stepped outside to see the ISS flying over.
tonight was pretty neat. Brightest thing in that part of the sky by far, moving like a bat out of hell, took about three minutes to traverse half of the sky.

for those that don't know (it was pretty early in the thread), NASA will send you alerts of when and where to watch for it here: NASA - Spot The Station

I watched it one night last week. Very cool thing to see.

We have had text alerts set up since December. We've gone out at least 4 times since then to watch it. Cool at first, but once you've seen it a few times, it kinda loses its luster, especially if you have to get up at 5am or stay up too late to see it. :)

this was the first time in months where it was at a decent time, and relatively cloud free.
my kid is studying space stuff in school now, so it was really terrific timing.

and tonight's was so bright, clear and for decent duration. I'm hooked!

I have never seen it, just signed up.

How many of you remember when Skylab was falling? You could see that and I watched it numerous times.

*sigh* I'm old

Holly Davidson would probably call me Mr.

One of the nice things about Facebook is that I don't need to bother going to WRAL or ESPN to know how the Duke/UNC game went last night.

dad's facepalm in the backgrond takes the cake

BDFdCYNCUAEcjVo.jpg

this pic reminds me of a story

back in the day my sister in law worked at the Boathouse in White Rock. One summer day with the patio deck packed a large party came in with 3 kids and they were seated at the railing ... with the sub 2 year old child sitting closest to the rooftop railing in a high chair (no ... dont worry the kid didnt fall over and down the 3 stories to the pavement)

so mom orders something alcoholic and fruity ... i dont recall the drink but it had large pieces of fruit in it orange slice and pineapple i think ... she finished her drink and started feeding the alcohol soaked fruit the kid :laugh3:
