LOL, while they were interviewing Serena post-match the camera cut to Bianca briefly and my wife said "oh, she looks smug". I gave Mrs BGD a knowing look and said "wait until she speaks". Just knew the Canadian-ness would come through.

Don't know if the Canadian broadcast addressed it during the match, but Bianca deserves even more credit for fighting through that second set in such a hostile environment. Really easy to know who scored a point, if it was a golf clap it was Bianca, if a 787 took off from LaGuardia, Serena got the point. That is tough for anyone, especially a teenager.

There have been many "next big things" come and go. I have a feeling Bianca is legit. Certainly has more of the mental acuity needed to succeed at the world level than most (non-hockey) Canuck sports stars.

I watched today's match against Zverev ("working" remotely today) and Denis played some sublime tennis, He will play the winner of Monfils and Albot on Friday who are currently in a three set tussle.

On the ATP Challenger Tour, Vasek Pospisil and Brayden Schnur are in the semi-finals of the tourney in Charlottesville. There's a good chance we might have an all-Canadian final on Sunday.

Djoker just too solid today and Denis looked a bit nervous today resulting in a 6-3 6-4 win for Novak. Still, a great couple of weeks for Denis who will wake up tomorrow with a new career high ranking of #15

Vasek makes it back-to-back Challenger titles with a 7-6 3-6 6-2 victory over Brayden Schnur. Great to see Pops back and playing some fine tennis and a nice week for Brayden Schnur as well.
