I hate the constant slurping from American media on a bunch of these athletes. It made me loathe seeing Tiger Woods on my TV for a number of years, even though he was more than deserving of the attention . My personal favourite (not) was Jordan Speith. They had their tongue so far up this 6 hour round playing, 8 handicap driver ability whiner's ass it was nauseating. Now he's bombed.

With Serena I don't care for the drama and whining but man she deserves all the accolades, so if the media focuses on her winning the most grand slams ever I'm OK with that at this stage of her career. But, yeah, I hope Bianca beats her with back-to-back bagels.

Totally agree, especially during the Olympics. Gets to the point where I start rooting against the media darlings if for no other reason than to make the soft-focus fuzzy stories stop and just let me watch competition.
