Honestly, if Tiger had realized his mistake on the drop, or had been informed of his mistake, what would be a reasonable penalty?

Or does the drop itself merit a DQ?

Again, pretending this happened before he signed his scorecard.

From what I gather throughout the Internets, the drop alone merits a DQ, drawn and quartering, beating with a stick and shooting at dawn.

No word on what it would merit if it was someone likable like Ernie Els or Jim Furyk.

That pic is a little misleading but if you look closely you can see tiger didn't hit from "as near" as possible from his 1st shot. Look over his left shoulder and see the difference in spacing of green to the brown grass. The view from behind they showed yesterday show he hit from a few feet back of his first shot. That said, I don't think disqualification was warranted.
