I was wondering this myself. End of the Thor movie, I was under the impression that he couldn't go back to Earth.

Apparently, when Thor first confronts Loki, Loki asks him how much 'dark matter' Odin had to waste to send him here. I guess Odin thought stopping Loki and Earth's annihilation was worth it, Natalie Portman, not so much.

Its a fair question about Thor, I am just glad he showed up like that and they didnt spend time in Asgard dealing with him trying to get here. I think it would have slowed the movie way down.
I did read somewhere the movie was 3 hours and before it was edited down so perhaps that was in there.

I'm sure some massively high budget shots ended up on the cutting room floor.
Wouldn't surprise me if that was one.

Since they conveniently skipped over all the details, and just summed it up to "magic", then why couldn't Odin just use all that dark matter to summon Loki back to Asgard, and avoid any conflict or damage on Earth?

You mean just like the 1st hour of the movie? I still think it was poorly done, and they wasted scenes explaining background stories and situations that weren't really relevant imo.

The whole interrogation scene with Black Widow was odd, as well as the whole scene where she had to go to a 3rd World Country and get Bruce Banner. And do we need Thor to explain how he knows the Professor from his own movie, and how they are friends?

Other things that bothered me was the scene where Bruce Banner fell through the building, and the creepy guard isn't fazed at all while staring at his package.

I also thought it was lame how Black Widow tricked Loki into giving up his main objective so easily. You mean to tell me after all that time planning and preparing, he would be fooled by some chick who is crying about what he is doing to her friends? I mean he's Loki for crying out loud, he's the demi-god of trickery!

It almost reminded me of how Megan Fox tricked Megatron in the Transformers movie by calling out his man hood, and saying he's a pussy.

I feel like the movie was too short. People who are saying the movie was too long are just action buffs. I like a story. Which is probably why I prefer the Batman movies, much darker and with a better story.

But the action in this movie was by far the best. Hulk was kick ass.

That new Spider Man looks extremely awesome. But wtf are they doing? They're changing the whole backstory to Peter Parker?

edit: nm, this is a more acurate depiction of the comics. Never really read the Spider Man comics. I thought the previous Spider Mans were straight from the comic books. I guess this one is a better representation. The trailer looked amazing in 3d. The Lizard looks fucking bad ass.

Yes, another movie cliche that is always used. The more powerful alien is outfoxed by the dumb, lowly humans that seem to have all the technology and resources that they want though.

Besides, how did Loki know that Tony Stark had a new upgrade to his building, and it would be completed in time for his arrival?

My main problem with Loki is that after 2 films, it's still unclear what his movie-version powers are. So he can kind of teleport, he knows some sort of magic I guess, some sort of mind control, and can create illusions or clones of himself? And he gets a staff that can shut blue stuff at people. If you ask a casual viewer what his powers are, they'd probably "Umm, he's like a wizard, or something".
