OT: SUN Newspapers

For our Canadian posters, I ask a question.....does anything worthwhile (hockey rumor-wise) EVER come out of a Canadian Newspaper that has SUN written at the end of it? The Ottawa Sun and the Toronto Sun (not as familiar with the Vancouver Sun or the Calgary Sun.....but I'm not a fan of IIan McIntire) has some of the worst (perhaps non-existent) journalistic integrity I have ever seen.

Don't get me wrong, I wish hockey got more coverage here where I live in the states but man.....I'd feel bad for anybody who had to give Bruce Garrioch (and others like him) the time of day after a tough loss. I mean, I'd punch that guy in the face.

I think the one exception might be the Vancouver Sun. The Calgary Sun is trash (with Eric Francis leading the way).

Vancouver Sun is pretty decent.

I tend to prefer the Vancouver Province, though I am not sure if it's just because it's easier to read in the crapper.

Of course, the Vancouver Sun belongs to CanWest Publishing, unlike the other 'Sun' rags that belong to Sun Media...

Vancouver Sun is pretty decent.

I tend to prefer the Vancouver Province, though I am not sure if it's just because it's easier to read in the crapper.

I think it was him jstew.....or it might have been Gallagher (is there a writer named Gallagher or something like it at the Van Sun?).....it's been awhile since I've headed over there. Anyway, one of them was exceedingly hard on my favorite hockey player and I've been bitter ever since, lol ;-)~.....in actuality, he may be a very as you put it vanilla beat writer who is a good person.....I've just never been able to forgive whoever it was.....blind hatred is fun though.

Uh-oh, I think you, Puck, Matt, Nazzy and Dup are all going to ridicule me for this one, lol.....he didn't have a very long, nor very successful campaign for your club.....his # is in my screen name.....and he probably is not too fond of hearing the moniker Backup Bob or Bargain Bob (Essensa).....Leafs and Kings fans seem to like him a LOT more ;-)~

I think Don Brennan is worse then Garrioch. Maybe not in terms of rumor mongering and name dropping but in terms of unprofessionalism and calling out players, there's none worse. His story about Spezza during the playoffs is likely the reason for the booing and the reason that Spezza is possibly upset.
