Jets fans are already out in force, talking smack. The funny thing is, they fully believe that they have this on in the bag. What, you think that automatically after beating the Pats it's locked up? Check yo' self, before you wreck yo' self. This is going to be an interesting week. And a long week.

Should be used to it, you did play the Ravens last week. There is no fanbase on earth filled with more empty wind than the Ratbird fans. Just yesterday, someone made a comment that they can't stand Steeler fans and that they would rather be a Ravens fan after a loss than have to support a team with a Rapist QB and a wife beating LB after a win.

Yeah. I pointed it out. Thanks for asking.

The Jets are a good team, but the trash talking is a bit much considering that if it wasn't for that jackass on the Colts trying to block a punt, they'd already be home snorting coke and beating on they baby mommas.

Do people really argue about classy organizations in the NFL? That's pretty hilarious.

Once the Ravens CHOKED, the matchups in the AFC became my worst nightmare.

Pittsburgh vs the Jets or Pats. I don't like any of them. I was surprised to find out yesterday that Pittsburgh hasn't played New England in any of the years they won the Super Bowl.

This year obviously will be no different. So in the battle of the loud mouth (Rex Ryan) & the JERK & that's being kind (Ben Roethlisburger I really don't want either team to win.

However since Terry Bradshaw was so embarrassed by Ben's actions that he would have traded him before the season started that's good enough for me. I consider Bradshaw one of the most underrated QB's to play the game & he's muich smarter than people think.

GO JETS!!

As for the Packers vs Bears. I'll be rooting for the Bears. However I think the Packers would give whoever wins in the AFC a better game in the Super Bowl. Sorry I don't trust Cutler one bit. He can be great one game & horrible the next.

I would kinda like to see the Jets win it just to see some new blood in the Super Bowl.

Getting tired of the constant New England, Pittsburgh, Indy rotation in the AFC.

Yeah, for the same reason, I think it'd be cool to see the Jets v. Bears.

I'd like to see the Jets make it just for another Suzy Kolber - Joe Willie Namath interview...

We can be confident of one thing at least if the Jets make it....there will be at least one player willing to make a guarantee that they win it all.

That is, if the coach doesn't beat them to it.

The NFC doesn't bug me the same way because there hasn't been a dominant team or even a rotation of dominant teams like in the AFC.

You have to go all the way back to 2001 to see a duplicate team out of the NFC.

Meanwhile, in the AFC, the same three teams have been there for the last 7 years.

Go Steelers! I really don't like either team, but it comes down to the fact I like Mike Tomlin a heck of a lot more than I like Rex Ryan.

I have no problem with people not cheering for the Steelers because they've been in this dance before...but you can't deny the class of the organization as a whole. Certainly a whole lot more than the Jets. Rex Ryan drives me up a wall with his style of coaching...teaches guys to act like primadonnas and like stupid athletes. He encourages smack talk through the media and just to be classless.

What?!? Didnt you know? Some are really classy and some really lack class. It has nothing to do with which team or teams one likes.

Definitely no argument there about the class of the Steelers organization.

I personally kind of like Rex Ryan though, if only because what you see is what you get. He's not the kind of guy that gives one personality to the media and then a totally separate behind-the-scenes thing. I guess I appreciate the fact that he doesn't seem like a phony at least.

That said though, Tomlin seems like much nicer guy. :)

I get what you're saying. I appreciate Rex's honesty...although I do wonder how much of it has become a show in NY. I go to a very small college out in Indiana, and our head FB coach was a fellow coach with Ryan, working with him back in the day at some other small university, in an article in our school's paper he discussed their relationship. Within that discussion came up the topic of the Hard Knocks show (this article was last year, so it was a little more relevant at the time) and Judge (our coach) laughed and said that he was putting on a show, because he's not like that. He said that Ryan rarely swore like that or acted so brazenly when he worked with him. Could be the spot light of NY that does it I'm sure...that said, I don't think Tomlin is fake at all with the media either, but he just expects more professionalism from his players. Heck, even yesterday I was impressed with Belichick for sitting Welker out after he lashed out to the media...that deserves some respect. I'm just old school like that though...I hate loud mouths *looking at you Bart Scott, WWF World Champion*

Are you joking?

See 1982-1997. The Super Bowl champion during that stretch was basically the best team in the NFC East or the 49ers. And most of the games were blowouts. Nothing like it is today.

Yeah...but I understand his point. We're already 10+ years separated from that domination. That said, the actual SB winner has been varied over the past few years between AFC/NFC

2009/10: NFC-Saints
2008/09: AFC-Steelers
2007/08: NFC-Giants
2006/07: AFC-Colts
2005/06: AFC-Steelers

That's really as recent as necessary...but yes for the most part the 2000's were AFC dominant. well...4-7. But the 90's were the opposite with the NFC ruling 8-2 (with the Broncos winning both for the AFC).

The last time the NFC won the interconference series was 1995. In the 41 years since the AFL-NFL merger, the NFC has managed to win the series eight times. Two of those came in the first two seasons after the merger. They have tied eight times. But the other 25 seasons have been all AFC.

In 2004, when the Patriots won their final Super Bowl of the decade, the AFC won the series, 44-20. Two years later, when the Colts won the Super Bowl, the AFC prevailed, 40-24.

Even when the NFC captured 13 consecutive Super Bowls from 1985-97, it managed to win the interconference series a mere five times.

That's more in line with what I was thinking.

The Cowboys, Packers, and 49ers were there for a long time, and that was annoying too (especially as a Bills fan, losing to those Cowboys twice). But starting in 2000 in the NFC, you've had 9 different teams.

That's what I meant, not so much domination by one conference over the other.
