Well, good and bad news. Phoenix did get the 1 point, so technically they now own the 8th spot. But good news in that they should have easily had the full 2 points against last-place Edmonton and now Dallas has 2 games in hand to get just 1 point. And since they play Phoenix in the last game of the season, they actually have 3 games to gain that 1 point.

A regulation 0-point loss by Phoenix would have been better, but every time Phoenix fails to get the full 2 points it puts Dallas one step closer to the playoffs. Our current playoff odds sit at 75%.

We haven't clinched. We still have 5 GR and they have 4 with only a 1 point lead. A lot can happen.
