Its alright. That was a very very successful roadtrip. Shouldve gotten 2 today, but we still control our own destiny and get a few at home

This loss was a lot more devastating than many will think. This comes down to game 82 and the game is in Glendale. Sorry they may have a tiebreaker but the last 8th spot is still anybody's for the taking between Dal and Phx.

We have a game on them, they just lost to edmonton, and they still dont have mike smith. It may come down to the last game, but we've been fairly successful playing phoenix. And I have a feeling that we'll still be ahead by game 82, so it might be one of those things where "dont lose in regulation and we're in" type of thing

Losing on the road is never devastating imo... even when its in the fashion we lost today

When you have opportunities to put further distance against your nemesis against a team that doesn't play for anything and have a 2-0 lead midway through the game then it's a bad loss. You don't want to put yourself in a position of trying to win the last game or get a point against the team you're battling it out on the road. With the style of hockey Phoenix and Tippet has in place they typically find ways to get a point out of their asses most games. The loss today was a bad one...it may be one that pretty much dictates what the end result is at the end of the season. Hell they couldn't even get a point and that's what is frustrating.

:agree:. This one will be the one we look back on if we don't make it.

We don't have a game on them. We are even in games played now. We have a 1 point lead.

All I'm saying is, if it comes down to the last game, I'm confident.

Stars had a couple of really unlucky bounces against Florida and Luongo made some really lucky saves. The Stars were the better and hungrier team, but the better and hungrier team doesn't always win. I'm disappointed that they lost a winnable game that they really needed, but I'm not mad at the team. The effort and desperation were there. The NHL screwed them pretty hard with such a brutal lengthy road trip with multiple back-to-backs this late in the season. Even Buffalo can beat Boston if they catch them on a tired night.

exactly. nothing wrong about the loss. Sure, you wouldve liked them to hold on, but I thought they played better today, and I'm not worried about them not making the playoffs.

Also, the Stars have the easier remaining schedule.

Dallas has 3 home, 1 Away
Phoenix has 2 home, 2 Away

Both teams play Nashville once, but Dallas gets them at home.

Both teams play Columbus once, but Dallas gets them at home. Also, Dallas gets to play Columbus the night after Columbus plays Phoenix, so Dallas gets to face the more fatigued version of Columbus.

Dallas does finish up at Phoenix, but the Coyotes will be playing the back end of another back-to-back that night while the Stars will have a day of rest.

Stars definitely have the advantage in schedule, starting goalie, and tiebreaker. They have no excuses for not emerging with the final playoff spot.

Two huge games tonight and tomorrow which most likely determine our playoff fate.

Interesting bit of trivia: the Stars and Blue Jackets will start their makeup game over tomorrow, playing the full 60 minutes. However, the game will start with the Jackets leading 1-0, since that was the score when Peverley went down. What's weird is that goal was scored by Nathan Horton. Horton is listed as doubtful for tomorrow night's game with a lower body injury. But he will still get credit for that goal. So, Horton will be credited with a goal on the final official score sheet in a game that he didn't officially play in.

So if anyone ever asks how it's possible for a player to get credit for a goal in a game where he was scratched, that's how.

haha if anyone asks "one player from one team has to die, be revived, the game be canceled, and be resumed at a later date."

extremely important two points tonight. gotta take advantage of being at home

I sorta just wanna make the playoffs just cuz I know that they'll give every seat in the AAC a victory green shirt to wear. It would be nice to see the seats full and everyone wearing victory green. Our fans are one of the worst as far as wearing team colors go lol

Phoenix scored with 15 seconds left to send it to overtime. Unreal. Thanks Columbus.

dammit... i saw the commish's post and im watching the game on about a 90 second delay so i knew it was coming lol.

Benn's got the best wrister on the team, im glad he took that himself, even though it was very savable.

Does anyone know the things that hold 2 pieces of glass together? Like when you go to tampa, or washington, those things are colored the team's color, and it looks awesome. Really helps add color to a rink. I feel like we should have ours victory green. Our arena is so colorless for the most part. Even center ice is just dark, not even green

Yeah, we can put them another point behind if we can finish this game strong. A win now means at absolute worst the Stars can clinch the 8 seed with a regulation win in the finale against Phoenix. In other words, the Coyotes couldn't clinch without beating Dallas or taking them to OT. Dallas definitely controls its own destiny 100% with a win tonight.

Stars really aren't playing that well tonight. I agree with Razor. They look really sloppy... a lot of chances for Nashville and not a ton of hustle or desperation in the Stars' game. I think they're fortunate to be up 2-1, especially with all of the turnovers.
