I appreciate the humor, Comeds.

I wonder what you think about this? Ray doesn't have to travel down the list of commandments very far to find where God doesn't want you to make an idol. Wouldn't you consider this self-worshiping? Along with the me-me-me dance he did before every game, plus the one after his last home game, and the one he did in M&T after the parade.

He claims to be a self-righteous and God fearing man, yet many of his actions speak of loving oneself a bit much.

I think the tattoo is kind of goofy but you will have to find someone more smartly religious to answer whether it breaks a commandant or anything like that.

I think the dance is silly too, but you will find plenty of other players who say it fired both the rest of the team and the fans up. Also as for the dance at the parade and after the last home game I can say the fans wanted to see the it so I am not sure I'd agree its a me-me-me thing. I was at the last home game, and when the offense got the ball back the fans were chanting "We want Ray" so I think some of the criticism of him coming out to run out the clock are just people and writers looking to make a story.

Honestly its a stupid dance during player introductions. Stupid but harmless in my opinion, not worth being bothered over.

I think at the end of the day Ray is more of an actor than anything else (besides being a damn good football player). I personally find his actions pretty abrasive and ridiculous, he seems like the kind of guy I would walk away from if forced to interact with, but I can't truly judge his character. That, and his teammates seem to love him, the guy is a winner.

Thanks :suds:

Believe it or not, I will miss seeing him on the field, especially during our teams' semi-annual grudge matches. Without a doubt, he is one of the best inside linebackers of his era. However, I won't miss the baggage that comes with him.

Pretty much my thoughts of him, as well.

I find his actions when on 'stage' to be highly ironic for a man who proclaims to be so in touch with The Lord.

Nor will I, at least on a national some of the media paid attention to that instead of other team members and what happened on the field.

Also, as a player its time for him to retire. Hes lost a few steps the last few years.

pfft ... no riot ... amateurs!

Everyone was on their best behavior. Only three people got stabbed!

My opinions on Ray Ray are well documented. So, I will not rehash it all. While I would love for him to get his come-uppance, I have accepted the fact that the machinery has made it so he probably never will.

Shannon was retarded for asking the question. And his answer was one of the most offensive things I have ever come out of a human's mouth. But it was all theater. Very calculated. And delivered with an artist's timing.

Its sad three people were stabbed but the location was a few blocks from the parade route and in that area a reason like a parade isn't usually needed for a stabbing to occur. But who know, maybe it was parade related.

it was probably Bodie.

That's why I said "best behavior" and "only".

True story - I texted a high school buddy of mine who may or may not be a Baltimore Police Officer and said "3 people stabbed at the parade?"

He responded with "I know what you're thinking. He has an alibi."

But now I wonder if he meant Bodie.

Not to impugn your fine work, sir. But there is one detail that could be considered:

And on that tattoo of himself he has a tattoo of himself on that tattoo, and on that tattoo he has another tattoo of himself on that tattoo!

The smarter thing to do was just not talk about it, say you talked about it as much as you can 12 years before. Especially since it was a prerecorded interview with his buddy Shannon.

Beyond that, when he starts talking about his relationship with God and winning - not being very religious my attention gets dialed way back, but to me he doesn't sound any different or more arrogant than many other athletes I have heard say the same thing. At least what to me sounds the same.

I love that he's got a relationship with God...but he I don't 100% agree with a lot of the stuff he's claiming. "God MUST think I'm better/more deserving because I won!" That's arrogant and ignorant. I'm more worried about the fact he legitimately believes it. As a Christian I think it's so far from biblical it's silly.

Oh, right, real reason I came to post here:

They're already planning Ray's statue. I'd judge, but I suppose it's the only Raven statue that makes sense. I'd let the corpse (happy one) of his career cool before doing this, butttt, that's me.
