Chappy was talkin bout the developmental "system" again

regarding the fact alot of these canadian players are scoring goals in high profile leagues across the world but cant buy a goal when they come together as the national team ... is it all about no confidence form the coaches? or no talented service players?

its ingrained in cdn players that they arent talented/skilled enough to compete with the south and central american countries so the mantra they hear throughout their time with national teams from u16 on is they have to be physical, fit, conservative and they can never get beat 1 on 1.

they never hear anything about being skillful, pushing forward and beating guys 1 on 1

a poor metaphor but Atiba Hutchinson scores this glorious goal in the eredivisie showcasing amazing skill and he comes back to play for team canada and its like the Ministry of families sent a kid back to the family that beats him down daily

I think i made the comment in the swamp a few years back that you could bet on this ontario/quebec based league (on numerous online sports gambling websites) that was liberally called semi-pro (yah right) but couldnt bet on the USL

You could be forgiven if you’ve never heard of the Canadian Soccer League.

Save for the sprinkling of fans that attend their games and the occasional screening on Rogers TV, few will have ever heard of the small, backwater league fielding teams in Ontario and Quebec.

Yet, online betting sites offer lines on every CSL game and with it have come European match fixers looking for an easy target.

Each week, 10 of the biggest online betting sites offer lines on every Canadian Soccer League game.

Bookmakers will take bets up to and during the game. With no way to watch the games online, betting houses send what are called ‘runners’ to each CSL game to report the game live by cellphone. This is designed to prevent betters and fixers from adding bets throughout the game before the bookmakers can change their odds.

What the runner and betting houses do is all perfectly legal and it’s part of the billion dollar global online gambling industry
