Miami missed a lot of open shots. I expect them to make more of those shots. Denver didn't exactly light it up from 3 either though so both teams can actually play better next game which is a good thing for the Nuggets as they won going away and still have better ball to play. Watching Jokic target the AG mismatch early in the game over and over again was like watching Manning relentlessly pick on a rookie CB all game.
Miami’s problem is that they don’t match up well at all. Their one starting player over 6’7” is 6’9”. Meanwhile Denver starts at a muscular 6’8”, an outside shooting F at 6’10” and their MVP at 7’. Their chances come down to getting hot from 3, or getting Jokic and Gordon sitting on the bench with foul trouble.

Regular season doesn’t necessarily correlate to postseason, but Denver is now 11-1 vs Miami in the past 5 years.

Excellent article on Ish Smith this am in The Athletic for those who have that. One snippet from Van Gundy:

“Obviously, since Smith’s played with so many guys over the years, Glessner and Van Gundy figured Smith would be a font of juicy inside information.

“He wasn’t.

“It’s one of the downfalls of Ish,” Van Gundy said, laughing. “I said it’s useless getting intel from Ish, because he loves everybody and thinks everybody’s the greatest guy ever. He’s so positive on everybody. It’s ridiculous. But it’s all legitimate. It’s not like he’s trying to BS you. He has an innate sense of finding the positive in every person. It’s not like he’s naive or anything. Ish knows the deal. But what he chooses to focus on, in every situation and every person, is the positive.”

The Heat proved they belong in the finals. Up to the Nuggets to get the Mo back.

A bad loss, were out hustled by Heat. Too many defensive breakdowns. I’m a huge KCP fan, but those two fouls with the clock shot expiring were back breakers. Six points there. MJP, maybe my favorite, got lost on D several times and has yet to break out shooting.

I wish MPJ was nasty like a Mahorn we'd sweep the heat. Great player soft mentally too often. Come on Nuggets its the Finals did you think series was over after game 1. If you let Miami hang around they will win this series. Nuggets your better team play like it.

Huge game for Denver tonight to see if they can rebound, despite Miami hitting 50% from 3 and only winning by 3 Denver looked lost on Defense pretty much the entire second half. Dumb turnovers, stupid fouls, and all around poor effort especially in the 4th quarter. They absolutely need to go back to Denver 2-2.

The Nu8ggets showed their mettle last night. Great game by the dynamic duo.

That was a badly needed win after giving up home court advantage. Amazing performance by Jokic, and not too shabby by Murray either. Braun brought the energy both offensively and defensively.

I love Braun. As he ups his skill level he is going to be a big part of this team going forward.

He's a winner - two state titles in High School - an NCAA title at Kansas and now he sits ready to participate on an NBA champion.

Waiting for KCP and MPJ to have a game where their shooting stroke returns.

I’m happy for a lot of Nuggets players - there are few I don’t like either as a player or a person. But I’m especially happy for Michael Malone. He may not be the sharpest knife in the kitchen with in game changes - but he really has built a culture built on trust, respect, and unselfishness. I noticed the other day that Payton was praising their unselfishness and speculating that they liked each other as teammates. I’ve often thought that fans have unfairly criticized him, and hoping that this will temper that some.

Last night Jokic became the 1st player in league history to have 500 pts, 250 rebs & 150 asts in a single post season.

And one more thing.

The Joker has never had a teammate that made an all star team or an all defensive team.
