They're moving to Oklahoma at the end of July. So here I am making crap money, very little in the bank (being out of work for so long killed my savings), and still paying off back taxes for the next 2 years. I guess you could say I'm pretty much fucked so I'm looking for:

a) possible roommates in the area
b) a new, better paying job. Even though I love the company I work for I don't make a lot per hour
c) Looking for work in other states

What the fuck!!!!!

Ouch... That sucks bro. If you're willing to relocate I am sure you can find a gig. Just sucks to have to up and move. Not easy finding roommates, or good ones at least.

I have a wife and kids, but I struggle with bills and rarely get enough sex. Do you think this is a good option for a guy like me?

That sucks man. It is certainly not a good time to be looking for work on the east coast.

The job Market in Columbus is good, as is Nashville and Indianapolis. We also seem to be losing people to Charlotte NC too. As a bonus, all those places are pretty cheap to live.

Sure, as long as you can get the wife to go along with it. That's usually the hard part.

The big Geico claim center here is looking to hire a few hundred people. They do all the training (paid) and have a full benefit package and retirement program. From what I hear they pay pretty good and there is no sales involved the calls are all for quotes. They have a nice new complex in suburban Amherst.

That sucks btm. At least you have a little bit of time to look for roommates. End of July is a month and a half away. I'm sure you can find some people

Sorry to hear that news buddy. It sounds like you really enjoy your job which is a rarity in this day and age. Are you close to any colleges or universities, students are always looking for places to stay and the start of a new school year isn't that far away.

Sucks to be in that situation but you are still young enough and unattached enough to make a negative into a positive. Look to go elsewhere and experience all the country has to offer.

Not sure what you do for work but I am sure if it is slow here and it busy elsewhere. Just need to move to the flow.

Hope all works out.

Sorry to hear that. My area is only so so for jobs, probably not even that right now, and its certainly not a cheap area to live in. So I really cannot offer any valuable insight.

Our roommates that hard to find? I used to live in a group house in DC with 4 other people and we'd have someone move out roughly once a year. We'd pop an ad on Craigslist, have 100 e-mails within 48 hours, and then set up interviews to hand pick our new roommate. And hell, if the lease is in your name, you could even nudge up the rent for the other roomies and lower your own rent. ;)

I might consider living in a tent; at least for the summer and most of the fall. Sell off as much as possible and keep the essentials in your car. You can shower at public facilities such as pools and use public wi-fi with a laptop for internet and TV. With the money saved from paying little to no rent and not paying utilities, you could probably have enough to rent some sort of apartment for the winter and early spring months when it's too cold outside.

Hopefully, you can find some room-mates soon, though.

Sorry, gimme two weeks. Parents are coming next week, will need that guest room.

Unless you are ok with tool sheds with a slight roach problem, then c'mon down!
