I never saw this video before all I have to say it Settle down Rick... so intense.

obligatory, for me...its what i think about when I hear that song and two others

25 years later still makes me laugh. Paul Thomas Anderson trying to build suspense...."fuck it I'll just have a houseboy throwing fire crackers around", and it works so well

Also, and this is important, never go to a drug deal with a guy named Todd

I dont think so but i am not sure. It was at least planned enough to where Molina has earplugs in because they didnt want him reacting to the the firecrackers.

My favorite Boogie Nights story:

ANDERSON: Every time Burt said ‘Neverthless,’ I kept noticing something was happening to Ricky’s face. I said ‘What’s going on?’

And he said, ‘I can’t… I’m suppressing laughter when he says Nevertheless.’

I asked why, and he told me this great story, of being at a football game where this woman is being introduced to sing the national anthem, and her name is Helen Forrest or whatever it is. And the announcer says, ‘And now to sing the National Anthem, Helen Forrest.’

And somebody in the stands screams, ‘HELEN FORREST SUCKS COCK.’

And the announcer [without missing a beat] says, ‘Nevertheless…’

Pretty funny story about Dennis Leary and Michael Stipe

During the interview, the Irish-American stand-up comedian and actor offered insights on being offered to star in Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Departed,’ getting acting tips for ‘Draft Day’ from Bill Belichick, and how he and Sean Penn settled a beef with R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe.

Rich Eisen asked Leary if he was originally asked to star in the video for the single ‘Shiny Happy People’.

Leary replied: “No, but I’ll tell you what is true is I did a rant about, I did an MTV spot about shiny happy people, okay, and some other stuff I hated, the sketch went....I want everybody off the bus. I want the shiny people over here and the happy people over here. Okay, I represent angry gun toting, meat eating people. Pal, I got two words from Michael Stipe....Steve Tyler, okay".

He continues: “and then I was in a restaurant in Los Angeles with Sean Penn and it was kind of empty. We were having an early dinner, so we’re just sitting there smoking, and my back was to the door, and Penn goes, hey, hey, Michael Stipe is on his way over. So, he walked up, and he hands me a little match book, and then walks away. It doesn’t say anything. And I opened the match book cover, you know, the old matches, yeah, of course, and, and it says, I hate shiny happy people, too.

"So, Sean and I go, and we went over and we sat with him and he was the greatest guy, great sense of humor about himself".

I think I share this one every March 17th. Great band. Great song that paints a great picture of the labor uprising.
