I also need to pause right here.

The Monkees fought to be more than the lip synch artists from the TV show,
and fired their manager after the 2nd album because of the lack of control.
My mother is alive and well, I shouldnt joke about things like that. In fact this week she got two great pieces of information about her health.

I am not sure she has ever heard of Smash Mouth but I have a feeling if she heard them she would hate them too. She might have to get out her old Helen Reddy LPs out to wash the bad away. lol

Speaking of Helen Reddy, did you know she hosted the first Midnight Special? And I forgot that Ed McMahon also made an appearance.

Also, Ike and Tina Turner before well you know...

I did not know that. I can say that even not hearing them for 40 years there are probably a few Reddy songs I could sing most all of from memory. Same thing with a few of Neil's.

Did you know Neil tried acting a few times? He even starred in a remake of The Jazz Singer. Wonder if it was any good......

I despise new country music. However this era of country music was very good.

missed this from yesterday - 1977. Lynyrd Skynyrd released Street Survivors
three days later, their plane crashed, killing Ronnie van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines and three others
They changed the album artwork

Old Guy Radio pulls out his K-Tel album from 1973 for a little Rick Derringer. Edgar Winter collaborated on this tune.

Old Guy Radio presents more great stuff from the Midnight Special - Peter Frampton and his talk box (and some pretty awesome guitar work as well).
