a Judas Priest rabbit hole is a good rabbit hole.
I had this album cover pinned to my wall as a teen.

agreed - was so much better imo than Nevermind
Was lucky enough to see them before they got big, right after the album came out - with less than 1,000 people in the crowd.

Totally agree on Nevermind being the lesser of the two but still a great album. The first time i heard the intro to Alive I was hooked and thought “holy hell, this is going to be good.”

I never got to see PJ live, still kick myself to this day. Seeing them with less than 1k there had to be something else.

old guy radio, released this day in 1974

CSB: the first album I even bought was Men at Work - Business As Usual.
my dad* called it garbage, said "why don't you buy some old music. older music was better"
so I went out and bought this album. Took me in a totally different direction, so I am grateful for his wise words.

* likes both kinds of music, country AND western

watching a Rick James documentary..... he started out in a band with Neil Fucking Young???

another interesting anecdote - he went to Toronto to dodge the draft as a teenager, and was randomly rescued from a fight by The Band (good Canadian kids).

I was a bit lost yesterday, driving around looking for a park where my nephew was playing his first football game. This song came on my radio and I was distracted/frustrated so by the time I noticed how much it was annoying me, it was 3/4ths over.

How Paul, I mean Sir Paul, is not living out the rest of his days exiled on an island in the south Atlantic for crimes against humanity is something I'll never understand.
