I honestly don't know enough about the religion to fully understand it...but is there something in their religion that says they can't see the face of someone they're in a relationship with for many years? The whole being sick thing is the line for me. If I were "dating" someone and they were in the hospital for a few DAYS I'd be there, let alone years.

Teammates saying that they weren't big fans of the wearing leis for Manti by students, etc. not because they didn't think this girl existed, but because they weren't sure they really were dating. According to the 'anonymous ND player' he was a man about campus, so they didn't qualify this girl as a serious girl friend. But, no one confronted him because well...he teared up in front of cameras, etc.

So, that may kill a couple theories...both the "I'm a Mormon and can't get serious w/ this girl" and the gay camp. Of course, it may also be a bitter third stringer.

As much as I'm intrigued by this and want to know the end story, because it's interesting, the fact that ND hired a private investigator for this but refused to look into r*pe allegations/suicide that happened involving their student athletes or the death of a student during football practice.
