Back on topic, there is a new Lebron T-shirt out...

"You may be headed South, but your mom is riding West!"

I tried to find an image, but can't get one solo. If you Google the phrase you can see it. Pretty damn funny.

1/5 of the league does indeed account for 1/3 of the revenue. Hard fact, kiddo.

I never argued that. In your response you claimed that I didn't think that Winnipeg deserved a second chance. That is completely false. I was pointing out that for all of your insults you don't read my posts. You assume I am taking a contrary opinion and typing up your retorts that don't deal with what I type. At all.

Discussing this with you is like argueing with a petulant child. Let me lay it out there as simply as I can:

I don't think the Coyotes should stay in Phoenix.

I would like them to move to the northern US or Canada (I would prefer the next team moved to be in Canada)

Your above quote is 100% accurate but it is not a valid arguement for that move.

Montreal and Toronto's financial surplus does not, by itsself, qualify Winnipeg for an NHL franchise.

That's it.

Sure:

NHL fans in Canada pay up - thestar.com
CBC News - Montreal - 31% of NHL ticket revenue from Canadian teams

Simply the first two I found when I did an "NHL revenue Canadian teams" google search.

And don't let slim tell you that revenue wouldn't increase with a half a million + going through the gate in Winnipeg every year. The "ratio" may indeed drop a little since Winnipeg isn't exactly a cash cow like Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, but, it still won't be 1/5 of the Canadian teams bringing in 1/5 of the revenue. It's not like people in Winnipeg have a short, little drive to watch an NHL game anywhere else, and, let's face it, a Canadian team merely breaking even is a HUGE positive swing compared to some of the annual red figures coming out of franchises where the only ice to be found outside the rink is in drink glasses.

Funny, I don't remember saying that...

Yes, I know, you're all about the falling ratio, which would STILL dwarf the American counterparts.

I know I was way off base with all of those sunbelt markets that I was supporting. Oh wait... And I never said that Winnipeg would do poorly. You sure like to put words in my mouth.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times I repeat that I would like to see more hockey in Canada (in fact I would like to see a team in Quebec if they can sustain one.) You would rather just pointlessly argue with me.

So, I give up. You win. I hated Canada every associated with it but you have thoroughly beaten me in our sophisticated debate and have shown me the error of my ways.

I know, you fully support my support for Winnipeg getting another franchise, it's just that you can't support my reasoning for it. All good, I have trouble teaching rocks to do anything, too.

Good thing you got to me when you did. I was about to spear head a campaign to bring Vancouver to Flagstaff and call it the "Make it Two in Arizona" movement.

I think Bettman would have gone for it. ;)
