OT: I'm Engaged!

Good news: She said yes.

Bad news: When I opened the box, the ring popped out.

Further bad news: We were on Viper at Magic Mountain (she grew up in Santa Clarita and spent most of her summers at the amusement park).

The staff continues their search, but we're less optimistic now.

Interesting facts: We were in the back of an LA County Sheriff's car being driven around the back of Magic Mountain to begin the search when we got the texts about bin Laden. An hour after the first search ended, we received texts from our friends that they found our hamster, Buggy, who had escaped right before we left for the weekend. If things happen in threes, America finds OBL, friends find hamster... Magic Mountain staff finds the ring! Still hoping.

One final interesting fact: Apparently, my grandpa proposed to my grandma on a roller coaster, too. He was smart enough to wait to give her the ring when they got off the ride.

To bring it back to the Giants: Hopefully they will find their bats before/when the ring is found.

Her mom was pushing for a diamond, and I kept telling her that Natasha was set on tanzanite. The first thing out of her mom's mouth when we told her about the ring falling out of the box: "Good thing the diamond wasn't in it." Nat flipped, but her dad and I laughed. Now, she's able to laugh about it, too.

For sure. I'm going camping with a bunch of buddies on Memorial Day weekend for a friend's bachelor party. I'll probably do something similar, but a ballgame would definitely be fitting, too. Great idea. I'm not much of a Vegas guy, so a Giants' game followed by a weekend and Big Sur could be the ticket.
