While AA did manage to get the Jays back to the postseason, he left the team in shambles from a prospects perspective (aside from Vlad Jr. and Bichette). I don't think too many people are shedding a tear that AA is no longer in charge.

I'd take him over Shatkins.

AA may have left the system with few prospects (although according to MLB the Jays have the 9th best farm in the majors and 6 of their top 10 prospects are AA guys) but that was mostly because he traded a lot of them to make a run. Donaldson was brought in by moving three prospects and a 6'4 220 lb giant bottle of vodka Red Bull. Price cost their top pitching prospect. In between that and graduations from the farm that made an impact on the big club (Sanchez, Stroman, Osuna, Pillar etc.)

I'm not sure what more he could've done other than not trade Thor and sign Kris Bryant.
