Jays hired a real crack to try and scam Dunedin into financing their new spring training facility.

When he presented his draft report to the Blue Jays, the team had to make several corrections – both to Bonn’s inflated assumptions and his arithmetic. Bonn encouraged the team to stick with the inflated numbers at one point.

Emails also indicate that Bonn was concerned with preserving robust estimates and he suggested removing the methodology from his report to reduce the number of questions county leaders might ask.

And my personal favourites:

When asked how he could suggest using bigger numbers to get to a desired result, Bonn said “it’s natural, I’m a consultant.”

When asked if being a consultant is different than being an economist, Bonn responded, “no; I consider myself an economics background.”

Burned out, abandoned Blue Jay bandwagon found on side of 401

COBOURG, ON – Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police are looking for leads after a charred 2015 Ford Bandwagon full of Blue Jays paraphernalia was found outside of Cobourg near the 401.

“The vehicle looks to have been intentionally set on fire, but there were some items that survived,” said Sergeant Mark Byers.

Police say they have recovered singed Blue Jays gear including jerseys, hats, Captain Canada t-shirts, Jose Bautista Bat Flip 8x10s, “Honk for Jose” bumper stickers, and dozens of stuffed parrots.

“It was still moving a few days ago with the last remaining passengers probably abandoning it for another vehicle.”

A number of receipts for Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs merchandise were also found in the vehicle.

While the police could not confirm, it is believed the vehicle may be headed to Montreal.

OPP say incidents like these are eerily similar to what occurred in the Spring of 1994 when dozens of abandoned Blue Jays bandwagons were discovered across the country.

It can. Of the first overall picks from 2010-2015 two have been all stars (Harper, Cole), two will likely be all stars in the very near future (Correa and Refrigerator Samsonite) and one is a bit of a bust but only because the Astros totally fucked up by not taking Kris Bryant, who is not a bust.

I also think Brady Aiken will be a good pitcher when he comes back from Tommy John, although it won't be with the team who drafted him first overall.

The Jays can be back to having one of the deepest farms in baseball with a high pick next June combined with their 2 picks this June, the players already in the system (especially Alford and Vladdy Jr.) and whoever they can get in return for their players, especially if they do decide to trade Donaldson. Hope Cherington's up to the task.

Lol ... its only been the past couple years that jays fans outnumber ms fan by a wide margin. Well see how it goes this season with the jays sucking although im sure many may have already bought tickets/planned vacays thinking the jays would be good
