I have nothing against the idea of int'l baseball but the game's best players avoid the competition for the most part - only 1 MVP winner of the last 4 years is there and he's a shell of his former self while none of the Cy Young winners from that same span are there - and in a day and age where injuries, especially to pitchers, are so much of a concern that teams limit hurlers' innings and go to such drastic measures as shutting guys down for the year to protect their arms it doesn't make a lot of sense to make them play an extra 6 competitive games for a tournament nobody cares about.

I thought she was a righty the first fifteen times I watched the video, and I thought she was out for crossing the plate before contact, but then my eyes started working again, and I realized she's a lefty, so I'm really not sure how that bad of a call gets made with such C. B. Bucknor certainty.

(That runner was also very obviously safe, which makes the parallel so much better.)
