Anyone else find the "Oh and what a play!" to be a strange call on that dropped DP ball? Not sure why I'm dwelling on that. If I only had to hear it once it wouldn't be so bad, but after hearing it a dozen or so times I can't help but wonder what that guy was thinking.

Not one of the four Rangers who touched the ball on that play did their job well. Andrus with a pretty bad, low throw to feed Odor, Odor with a bad throw to Moreland, Moreland not squeezing the ball in the center of his glove, nor making a good throw himself, and Lucroy not catching the ball. A decent feed from Andrus, and that game is likely in extras.

I'm also not convinced Moreland couldn't have made the stretch and kept his foot on the bag on that throw, either, though Russ might have beaten it out, and it might not have been worth the risk.

Hey Chris, should Andrus have maybe gone to 3rd base instead? I know a double play gets you out of the inning, but I think JD would have been out at 3rd with a decent throw and that makes it 2 out with runners at 1st and 2nd.

With the catcher running to first, I think the double play is a good risk to take, and you're only going to do that going through second on a ball like that. Even if you only get 1, if the ball is caught at first, Donaldson doesn't go home, and you have two outs. A runner on second versus a runner on third isn't a big enough deal with two outs to not take the risk.
