You couldn't pay me to watch ESPN or go on their website these days. Incredibly rare exceptions are when I'm at a hotel and want to catch top 10 plays. When I want to see standings, I go to mlb.com or nhl.com.

I've had it with ESPN and their hero-worshipping shit.

I understand if they want to wait a little longer before they cancel tonight's game, but they better not try to force the teams to play when they otherwise wouldn't or try to schedule a meaningless make up game Monday. I am sure plenty of great players have had their last home game rained out. Sucks, but oh well.

They've somehow tricked the rest of the baseball world into thinking they're this "aww, shucks", down home, clean cut, never wrong, "doing it the right way" club.



They're not.



They're no better than any other franchise in sports when it comes to ethics, they just have manipulated others into thinking so. No, Cardinals fans, you're not better than other teams' fans. You sell out because your team is consistently good. Congrats on being born in a town or to a family that has a good rooting interest. I'm a Pittsburgher, I realize what it means to be freaking lucky, and what it means to be part of a fanbase that somehow thinks it's superior when it's not. Good teams have good fanbases because the fans have a reason to stay, don't get it twisted.

Sorry, this is one of my many soapboxes. I have a great friend who's a Cards fan, and this is lost on him. Fully believes in the Cardinal Way. Just like yinzers think there's a Steelers Way. Uh, no. There's a "whatever way lets us win/make money/look good all at the same time". Steelers have employed many shitbags, and so have the Cards. I still laugh about their "cheer for us, not the Dodgers!" stuff last year..."The Dodgers try to buy a championship!" Yeah, well, you have a top 5 in the NL payroll...so.
