Oh.
They need to take the voting away from the fans. It's freaking the entire Yankees roster. Even if they're having HORRIBLE years.
That doesn't even affect the National League ballot, though.
I'm reading comments on the article, and folks are saying that McCutchen doesn't deserve an All-Star nod because he lacks raw power. HE'S A CENTER FIELDER AND COUNTING STATS MEAN NOTHING IN THE LONG RUN.
Sorry, stat nerd got the best of me.

Anyway, in all of Major League baseball, only Jose Reyes, Jose Bautista, Adrian Gonzalez and Matt Kemp have higher WAR stats. Only Matt Kemp and Shane Victorino in the NL have better OPSs for CF, and Kemp is a butcher defensively and Victorino's OPS is slugg% driven, which is overweighted in the stat anyway. In the best offensive metric, wRC+ (weighted runs created +), McCutchen is 5th behind Braun, Kemp, Berkman, and Upton.
McCutchen is and All Star. The outfield should be Upton-Kemp-Braun to start the game, and Berkman and McCutchen should be the next subs in.
