We're waiting for the first member of the heron rescue team to arrive. They were going to camp somewhere, but the family next door that usually only uses their place in the summer offered it, so the team will have a place to stay. I was out for a walk today, and I took my binoculars in hopes of spotting the heron, but no luck.

Meanwhile, our young cat Snowflake had an eye problem last week. She went to the vet and had a lot of tests, but it looks like the eye drops they gave her are doing the job. Anybody else have a cat that likes to play fetch?
They never found the heron.

The vet told us Snowflake probably had FIP and might last 2 or 3 months. There's no cure, but no definitive test, either. We decided to give her a happy life as long as she was with us. It seems the vet was wrong, as she's as happy and hungry as ever.

So. My brothers got a cocker Spenial/King Charles Cross who i think is about 14/15. Sweet, Great with his girls. However, lets just say when Brains were being handed out. Charlie missed out.

Here us a example:

We had a Whippet and German Shepard cross. Me and me Dad were walking all 3, Kaya the Shepard could walk without a leash, around the Forestry building on Burnside when we come across a rabbit.

Kaya and Casey, the whippet, stay put. Charlie, who is 3 and not built for speed, goes in chasing after the Rabbit.

So anyways fast forward a few years. I'm in the Landry room yesterday and I start hearing him barking....

I go out to the living room. Nothing....

I turn to go back and he stares at the window and starts up again. I look out the window. Zilch.

As we are thought to do. I grab him at the Snout and tell him no.

My mom is wondering what was up. I reply i don't know.

He makes his way across the hall and sits between the guest room and the Landry room and again Starts up. I look down the Hall between my onsuite and the laundry room. Nothing.

He finally goes back to the living room and sleeps but seemed jumpy the rest of the day till my brother and his family picked him up at about 3ish

So. I'm trying to grab my phone from the kitchen.

Charlie is lying lengthwise across the Hall floor behind me.

Forgetting he is deaf. I quietly call his name...

No response

So I give him a lovetap kick on his tail...

He Jumped up like his ass was on fire and started doing the head lookaround.

After having the rescue for a few weeks we realized that we couldn’t keep him. Just too many issues that we couldn’t have with young kids in the house. Heartbreaking decision but after doing a bunch of research we ended up getting a standard poodle puppy. Here is Harry at 3 weeks, 8 weeks and now 10 weeks.

Tough decision I'm sure, but while not sure what was going on, I'm sure it was the right one. My brother's dog has bitten everyone in his family at least twice. Broken skin bites, not little nips. They have tried trainers and meds and it still happens. My nephews are 12 and 11 so my mother and I readily try to get him to get rid of the dog before it gets their face or damages them bad, but so far they still have it. Tough decision but you can't have your kids being bitten.

Harry looks awesome!
