Most recent pics of my kitties. It's tough to get them together for pics and I don't have a smart phone. This pic taken with the webcam. They're 22 months old now and officially lovable pain in the asses. :becky:

The dark one looks very similar to a cat I had growing up.

I don't dislike pitbulls. I know a lot of great pitbulls. But as someone who makes their living working with dogs, I'm not sure I would want my baby or toddler in consistent contact with a pitbull or larger dog breed purely because I know what predatory drift is. And it scares me!!

I think Predatory Drift would be a good band name.

is that a dead Ku Klux Klan member at the base of that tree

He's just taking a nap. After all, his car caught on fire and he had to walk home.

I assume this is part of a population control thing? It's easy for me to brush it off, seeing as I didn't watch it...but it is a necessity, right? There was a great Mike Rowe talk from TED (the conference) where he talks about goat castration. It's a good one if you look it up. Sounds weird, but it's really good.

The main reason this barn does it is because of the aggression a full grown mustang brings. It is much easier on the horse if he isn't not used for breeding to be castrated and way more safe for humans around them. I am with you on questioning if it is right or not but with this barn being a rescue and trying to find these horses good homes, castration is the way to go. I will check out the Mike Rowe talk. Curious to see what he says.

Pix, I Watched the Mike Rowe talk and you are right. That was really good! That guy really knows how to speak. As far as the castration part he talked about, thank God the one I saw wasn't done the "rubber band" way. One part I found interesting about the castration I saw was that the vet didn't sew up the hole that all the "stuff" comes out because it heals better if you just leave it alone. It bled very little. Maybe I should ask to do what Mike did with his teeth to that lamb he talked about the next time they need a horse gelded?:faint:

Thanks Pix for the suggestion! Was a great watch!

Sorry you lost your cat. 7 years just isn't long enough but is any age ever long enough? Don't think of you getting another cat as replacing your Olivia. Look at it for what it is........... a different time of your life that you can enjoy another cat being a part of it all. Easy for me to say I know but hope you can enjoy cats again at some point.

You referring to the part in Tommy Boy when he pucks up the roll?:laugh3:

About a month before the 3 cats I have now were born, My other cat mittens was killed. He was hit by a car overnight after sneaking out. When I went out to go to work that morning, there he was dead behind my car. I was devastated as he was less than a year old. The 3 I have now are basically rescues. My friends moved to Oklahoma and couldn't take them and I was damned if I was gonna let them go to the shelter so I adopted them. Best thing I've done in a long time. I feed them only the best food (Evo dry food, Best Feline Friend for wet food) and they keep me smiling every day, and sleepless every night lol. This is my guy who got hit.

Ah man he was a cute kitty! I cant imagine going thru finding him like that right before work. I used to "dislike" cats when I was younger until by girlfriend(now wife) brought one home. She found him alone under her parents barn and he was way too young to be more than a foot from the mother. Never knew what I was missing!

New additions to my family. They belonged to my sister who passed away about a month ago. Blackie and Princess. I forgot what Blackie was, but Princess is a pure breed poodle. They are sweet and lovable. Sparky protects them like a big brother, it's adorable.

So sorry to hear about your loss. That must be so tough. Really cool you took in her dogs. How have they been since they moved in? Quite an adjustment for them too I would imagine?
