You don't have to explain your comments to anyone. Other than Yankee fans, I don't think anyone liked him, not even many of his own employees, who he treated like dirt much of the time. I know you're not happy he died, and neither am I, and I'm a Sox fan. But no one should expect those of us who disliked him to pay him any tributes. He died, as do tens of thousands each day without any tribute.

I didnt really care for him, plus the fact he lived a good long life, plus the fact my "celebrity" grief is taken up by Harvey Pekar all adds up to the fact I am not too upset about George's death.

As much as I don't like the Yankees I respect Steinbrenner. He's what every fan should want their owner to be like. He wants to win & will spend whatever it takes to do so.

That's true and commendable but its not as if George was losing money to field a winner. He wasn't. I don't think any owner should be expected or asked to do that.
