lol, nope not here. It's on the business here. They pay a very small fee for each transaction.

the cdn banks charge the customer and the merchants fees also ... although alot of the smaller banks/credit unions are moving towards no fee cards/accounts if you keep a certain balance

/and people wonder why the cdn banking system is in good shape lol

Banking in general has destroyed this country. We rely way too much on credit. It is sickening. Thankfully I learned at a young age. I'm still paying off, almost done, my dumb ass mistakes from 18-21. I went on vacation all over the place.

aint that the truth.. once you turn 18 they just light you up with credit cards and people just spend like crazy.. then 3-4 years down the road they cant pay off their debt

luckily my parents/brother hammered on me to make sure that 1. i didnt get a credit card til i was employed and 2. to pay off everything every month

hahaha.. well thats what credit card companies rely on.. people being dumb enough to make minimum payments, but not being dumb enough to just get a new card when they default on one so they just end up in debt, out of work, on the streets, peddling drugs (aka never paying the credit cards off)

and then the hippie liberals vote people in to power so that the rich people, that weren't idiots, can pay for them!

it all comes full circle.

i think the worst part of it all, is that everyone is mad at the government and banks (at least in the US its that way).. just seems like (almost) every decision they've made in the past 10 years or so has been a bad decision

I'm mad at myself for buying a house in May of 2007. I'm mad at the Government for trying to "stimulate" the housing market by giving people up to $8,000 two years later to people who are now buying homes at extremely discounted prices. Why not give me the money so that I can feel better about losing $50K on my house in a 1 year span when it's in a nice area.....

mm that sucks filo.. shitty timing for sure..

i'm mad at the government because i think there are 0 politicians out there that are looking to do what's best for the country.. they just want power and will do whatever gets them elected, which because of how our system is set up, is to be as radical as possible towards the left or right

I have a credit card. I pay it off in full every day. It's through my bank account, and is connected to my account, so I can cost-free just transfer the money to it online. I use the credit card simply to build credit (since my loans are all deferred, and paying back loans builds credit very slowly) so that when I get into the real world and decide to buy a house in 10 or so years, I'll be able to get a loan if necessary.

Of course, I'm also saving $500 per month on a graduate school salary, so that should help as well.
