just dont let it collect the interest. that is what kills you. minimum payment pays the interest and not always all of it.

i dont know how it works in the states ... many of the big banks here in canada that issue debit cards usually have transaction fees for every purchase

lol, nope not here. It's on the business here. They pay a very small fee for each transaction.

Although I believe banks are going to start charging a 6 dollar fee to customers monthly for a checking account... Kinda bullshit. But still worth it to me for the ease of use. I hate carrying cash.

my brother in law recently moved to seattle to take a job at amazon and to avoid double taxation he basically liquidated all cdn assets ... sold his condo in downtown vancouver for over 600K and put it in a US bank account ... transferred alot of his investments into us brokerage accounts ... making 6 figures

the US bank wont issue him a credit card lol ... he practically begged them for a card with a $500 limit so he could get a cell phone and internet at his new place ... nope nothing ... apparently cdn credit or having 600K in your bank account doesnt count for anything down there

yet, like you said, they give cards out to us college students like it was candy

credit card usage is up for me! always pay it off at the end of the month though

oh wow.. thats crazy.. i could've had a card with every provider there is w/ a 2500 limit (graduated in may)
