I think it is fair to say Germany is going to destroy Italy.

If Schweiny can't go for Germany on Thursday, Thomas Muller is no slouch in his place...

I think it is fair to say Germany is going to destroy Italy.

Germany and Spain are going to rollllllllllllllll. Can't wait for the Final. UBER ALLES!

umm??? no??? lol

this is definitely not a given ... although Germany will have had an extra 2 days rest

if Italy can play the same game they played against Spain in the opening game, Italys going through ... theyre totally playing like Spain right now ... Balotelli needs to up his strike rate and finish 1 of the glorious chances he gets ... I think he will ... hes due ... scoring that pk against his pile o crap Man City teammate Joe Hart was a confidence building effort

Its one thing for Germany to break down and score 4 against Greeces d, it should be interesting to see if they can break down the Italian diamond ... Germans showed they are very susceptible to the counter in their game v Portugal and they totally hung on at the end in that game. Plus they gave up 2 versus Greece?????? Germans can bog Pirlo down in midfield but all he needs is one chance to set something up (see Spain game)

If Italy allows Germany to take possession it could be an ugly game but thats not prandellis philosophy ... thats the old Italian defensive theme that England has adopted

The European Championship's viewership is up big from four years ago.

The average audience in the United States was up 82 percent for English-language broadcasts through the group stage.

The 24 matches on ESPN averaged more than 1 million viewers. For Euro 2008, the games were watched by an average of 552,000 people.

Awesome to see. Nice to see that the sport is finally growing significantly here.

Cruel - but fun to read coms in papers from BEFORE ENG v ITA QF. Lots of "this is the year" "Hart unbeatable in penalties" stuff. Ouch.

That was very cheeky by Pirlo yesterday - Imagine if Hart just stays in the middle and it's an easy catch.

Pirlo was on RAI saying he saw Hart had moved early and was pretty much off balance going down to his right before he even put foot to ball

amazing split second decision to chip ... amazing soccer mind that ugly dude has

and for those who think the crowded, talented german midfield can stifle Pirlo

v england:

Pirlo ran 15.2 kms - attempted 133 passes - 19 more than England's 4 starting midfielders. He completed the same amount as they attempted - 114.
