fascinating. Lucas really has had this planned out all along. this was an interview from 1983 where Mark Hamill discusses that he will most likely return to Star Wars in 2004 (obviously its not then) but the plan was in place for 7 8 and 9 all along. 2015 is 11 years later but its been planned this whole time. how did I NEVER see this video before.

This actually makes quite a bit of sense on Disney's part. They already have a Star Wars weekend at Disney World every year. They Star Tours which is a ride and a Jedi Training Academy/show. They pick kids out of the crowd to give them robes, teach them how to use light sabers, they get to "fight" Darth Vader and what not. Not every kid picks the good side.
