Oh man... I started reading that as a kid... reread everything in middle and high school, and now that I have kids of my own I gave them all my old books and started buying them the ones that went missing. The only one that we need yet is Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat. I can still pick those books up today and laugh my ass off, and remember exactly what it was like to be a kid, and how I used to think and feel. Those books are absolute magic.

If we ever get rep back, I am going back to rep your post. I don't care if it's twenty years later, I will find it. If it's been thirty years and we don't have rep back, I'll find the building that houses the server and burn it down.

Did you see it ?

And if so?

Thoughts

Ok, I'm back. After being on message boards for the last few years, it was nice to take a little time away.

I loved Man of Steel - saw it five times. I've never seen another movie in theaters more than twice (Star Wars: Ep III). It was great to finally see Superman modernized closer to what's been done in the comics. I really liked how the ending was handled too.

The big news over the weekend for me was definitely the inclusion of Batman into the Man o' Steel sequel. From what I've read, it'll be influenced by Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns." Even though Miller's a d*ck when in the way he handles Superman, I feel like it's a good direction to go. The new big rumor from Comic Con is that Warners is trying to make a Flash movie to be released in 2016, setting up a Justice League movie in 2017.

I'm going to start saving up for movie tickets now because the summer of 2015 now includes the Man of Steel sequel (w/Batman), Avengers: The Rise of Ultron, 007 sequel, Avatar 2 and Star Wars: Episode 7.

So Rocky 7 is coming out but they're calling it "Creed", no word yet if they plan on changing it to "Adrian's Revenge".

speaking of sequels. I saw Silent Hill Revelations last night but a sequel of Silent Hill from a couple years ago which actually had some promise and good scares. this might have been one of the worthless sequels to ever have been produced. it was beyond bad... the actor that plays Jon Snow is in it fwiw

I'm going to see it this weekend. My sister and my niece saw it and they both said it was good and scary, we'll see.

I love a good scary movie. Not a bloody gorefest, but a good, scary movie.

yah it doesnt have scenes of gore but it still got an R rating ... great marketing point here

"When we sent it into the board they gave us the R-rating," Executive Producer Walter Hamada says. "When we asked them why they basically said, 'It's just so scary. [There are] no specific scenes or tone you could take out to get it PG-13.'"

The book was amazing, looking forward to this. Was a bit hesitant when I heard Mark Wahlberg was the lead (although I like him I thought it meant they'd Hollywood it up too much), but this trailer looks like they're staying pretty true to the book.

Was not crazy about Elysium. Not enough character development, the mindset and abilities of Matt Damon's character seem to change throughout the movie. I dunno, maybe I was expecting something different but I wasn't thrilled with it. I wasn't crazy about District 9 either, same director. Great concept, poor execution in my opinion.

Not exactly "coming soon" but great film. I was happy to find it on Netflix.

I was able to look past it's flaws and enjoy it as a decent sci-fi action movie - of which there aren't many these days. The director is still a relative rookie. He does a great job of creating these "gritty" future societies, and does introduce some fun and exciting tech into his films. But he does struggle keeping his storyline focused, and lacks subtlety in his social commentary.

If you streamlined the plot a bit, made the politics on Elysium more believable, and took away Jodie Foster's weird diction, it could have been a great movie. Hopefully Bloomkampf improves, he's got potential.
