So far, this conversation is reminding me too much of the TV version of the final showdown between Rick and Gov.

OK. Initial thoughts...

Is it me, or are they hinting at a bit of experimentation in Maggies future?

Was that final panel Negan's throat? Now I think the whole thing is the TV version of Rick v Gov, but from Bizarro World.

I did not believe Negan for a second. He certainly seemed like he was setting up for one his punch lines, but the way it ended sure makes Rick look like the bad guy, when all is said and done.

Maybe this sets up some kind of rebellion within the 3 (4 if the Saviors join up) remaining communities against the monster that Rick has become.

yeah I heard rumours rick was going to die this book, I kept expecting Negan to agree like he was then hammer rick in the head, then I thought maybe Andrea snipes Negan finally. but what rick did was a surprise, not a shock but a surprise, but they only showed a nick in the throat in the panel with a decent amount of blood but it didnt look like he tore his throat out. next one is released APRIL 23. I still have no idea how they portray negan properly in the TV show, that is some HBO stuff, maybe they are hoping HBO buys them lol as crazy as it seems I love Negan hah the guy just cracks me up

Well, Comic Gov and TV Gov were quite different, but you knew they were essentially the same person. I imagine they can have a non-cussing version of Negan who is just a complete smart ass who annoys everyone around him because of his gregariousness.

Without his favorite word, though, I agree it will be odd to see him on screen.

The 1% represents the chance the show will not make it long enough to introduce him.

If the show lasts long enough, he will be on. There is no question of this.

Seeing as I expect him to be introduced in S6, I see no chance the show gets cancelled before he is brought in.

Jon Hamm is good, but as Kirkman said, he will move on to greener pastures. I doubt he wants to sign on for only 1 - 1.5 seasons of an established show to play a potentially iconic character. Not a good career move.

I want Julian McMahon for Negan. He would be absolutely PERFECT for the role!

Speaking of Negan...

His time in the TWD comic universe officially comes to an end tomorrow. I am stoked to see who actually delivers the final blow. I think they are establishing Maggie as more of a leader, and ending Negan would be a good feather in her cap.


Not to mention that she needs to do it, for obvious reasons. I suspect that the war is over at this point, and Rick either gives her the bat to finish it, or she storms out and takes Lucille and does it on her own accord, right out there in front of the HT gate.

As for moving forward, I do not see Rick staying at HT. I think he moves on, somehow, and we have a split of the group. Maggie and Eugene stay at HT and Carson, Dwight and Paul join Rick moving forward. The new core-group will be Rick, Carl, Dwight, Paul, Carson and Andrea. Maybe a few other minor-ish characters join in. I can see Michone staying with Ezekiel at HT, but I can also see both of them joining Rick on the road.

I would think that the channels themselves would be gone ifthat were the case. But I am usually able to read them before I go into work, and now I have already had lunch with no release, so who knows.

Apparently they did not send out the e-version of the book until later today.

Anyway, kinda anti-climactic, IMHO. Not sure the Pst ZA world is ready to hand out life-sentences yet. Just another mouth to feed, unless they put him to hard labor, but wouldn't that just be opening the door to slavery?

I don't want to turn this into a political rant about the death-sentence, so let's leave it at that...
