I guess they modeled their power grid on Texas if "temperature variations" can take a whole country out.

Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, but the Madrid Open tennis tourney had to cancel all play today due to the nationwide power outage. That's the one issue with electronic line calling, you need electricity for it to work lol

I'm not seeing anything that is pointing to Cyber attacks.

Granted my info is coming from agencies that have been gutted since January, so they may not have all the best info.

That explains it. The power just went away.

Seriously though, the idea that 15GW of power can just disappear is mind boggling. 1GW is pretty much the power consumption of a decent sized city. 15 cities' worth of power leaving due to an explosion of some sort would certainly be noticed. Kind of terrifying that they have no better answers at this point.
