Fun story. Over the years the Soviet Union deployed over 2500 small nuclear generators to remote areas to power outposts, radio beacons, or lighthouses etc. Since the fall of the Soviet Union (for now) many have been abandoned. There was an effort to collect them but that ended and many are presumed to be out there.
