saw 3 parked in a Redmond Washington parking lot in May ... so theres at least 3 dipshits living in Redmond (my incorrigible nieces make 5 - did I type that???)

/ saw (and heard) a Lambo SUV in my inlaws parkade in Kelowna ... thought it looked and sounded very nice :noidea:

this was almost a thing for our Funeral Home

Before Donovan Bailey and Michael Johnson raced at SkyDome to settle the World's Fastest Man at the time, we had Kaplan vs. Conrad.

since theres no "ball sweating at the sweatshop" ... The Bay retail locations (across canada) have been closing their doors possibly due pending mass permanent closures / financial restructuring (although their hold co just bought Neimann Marcus in the states)

although many employees have popped up on reddit saying its dire but not that dire ... store closures are the result of HBC not wanting to pay for AC in the sweltering temperatures ... if running the AC costs more daily than the revenue they bring in per store location they should probably shut it all down

The ultimate in never expecting that outcome.

And obligatory:

Yeah, I would put this result right up there as well. Granted, Pele was in the twilight of his career, but dusting Borg and Sugar Ray Leonard?!?

a funeral home I worked for didnt want to repair the buildings AC for the last big heat wave we had. instead they rented a giant (over 6 foot tall) industrial ac unit that cost them $5K to rent for one month ... we lost 6 funerals because of that. families just walked in and left after seeing it.

cost of fixing the AC $45K
cost of lost funerals $48K

guess where the GM of the funeral home USED to work

The Bay

I havent been to the downtown Bay in a while but I saw many chiming in that the elevators and escalators broke down months ago and they arent paying to repair those either ... Theyre closing the stores to avoid worksafe complaints from employees for unsafe working conditions.

Remember the less popular Circus Of The Stars? I was watching when a lion mauled Lee Meriwether. One of my favorite childhood memories.

I believe so - real estate development play - already a plan to redevelop the granville and georgia lot in place

/ City of Burnaby has a 30 year plan to completely redevelop Metrotown mall area - crazy but entire Metrotown mall is going bye bye too in the distant future
