teamrankings.com has UC projected to be a 5 seed with a record of 23-8. 98% chance to make the tourney.

I assume we'll win the conference tourney.

This team will do well, I think. They won't get a 5 seed, I don't think, but they have a shot to win some games this March.

Solid defense, and they have guards that can shoot it, and score. Big departure from years' past when it's been 1 guy, and a bunch of fillers.

They'll get hosed in the seedings. It will be embarrassing how much the seeds are slanted to the power conferences, even though half the teams in each power conference couldn't consistently compete a D2 level.

No doubt. Unless they win the AAC AND the tourney...they'll be stuck between a 7-9 seed. Just the fact while a crappy Michigan team who shouldn't make the tourney will, and end up a 6 seed...because they are in the BIG...you are right.

Michigan isn't making the tourney. UC should make it but the overall quality of the sport in general is so horrible it's hard to tell who's really better than anyone else after the top 1, then 2&3. UC isn't winning a championship this year so I'll wait to bitch about seeing until the year they have a legitimate shot at a title.

What a lazy, uninspiring effort. My god that was awful. Just awful. We absolutely need Mick back. RIGHT NOW. This is ridiculous. Larry Davis is an idiot.

They're shitty. I've never seen a more inconsistent basketball team in my lifetime.

I'm only 29 but I drink and dip heavily so you're probably right. If I was a recruit I wouldn't come to play in that shitty gym. I was there an Saturday and it's depressing how shitty that arena is compared to the rest of the facilities in every other sport. And to think that a decade ago that was the flagship of the athletic program.

9 seed.... Ugly first round loss where we score 48 points.

I think they were really dragging in the Temple game. They shot decently enough, but lack of interior defense and turnovers, to me, point to being really tired from that 3 game stretch. A chance to rest up and get right at home against Tulane before taking on XU.

Still in good shape as long as they don't take another bad loss (USF, UCF, Tulane twice).

Loss to Tulane?

I think it's safe to say this isn't a tourney team. There is really nothing to see here.

Definitely not a tourney team........they do have a decent foundation for next year......they really need Mick back on the bench.

The Non-conf schedule is keeping them alive, along with the sweep of SMU. NC State winning makes UC look better and better.

This team, however, is looking like last year's SMU teams. Solid start, but just couldn't sustain it down the stretch.

The cross-town has turned into a big game for both teams looking to make a push towards the tourney.

It's amazing what you can do when you play to the strength of your teams. This team is not a good half-court offensive team. This team (any like many UC teams before it) is built on athletes that are long, strong, and can run. Get out, pressure the ball on defense, and on offense run, run, run.

It's also amazing how easy it is to play to your strength when you are playing a truly bad opponent.

There's no doubt about that, but at least they are now putting these bad teams away instead of letting them hang around and finally pull it out and win by 5 at the end.

Eitherway, the shift back to more man defense, and on offense to get the ball ahead and attack using the athletes on this team is a good sign. Too bad it took this long to recognize both needed to be done.
