Brazilian diving team breaks up over alleged sex scandal at Rio 2016

A pair of Brazilian synchronized divers will no longer compete together after one was allegedly forced out of their room the night before their event so the other could have a "marathon sex session" with a canoeist.

Ingrid Oliveira reportedly persuaded Giovanna Pedroso to leave their room at the Olympic Village after a heated argument so Oliveira could spend the night with Brazilian canoeist Pedro Goncalves, according to Brazilian newspaper O Globo, as relayed by Danny Boyle of The Telegraph.

The alleged rendezvous apparently took place Aug. 8, the night before the women competed in the synchronized 10m platform diving at Rio 2016. They went on to finish last in the event, with local media describing their performance as "pathetic."
