There has been some talk about a shared bid with Vancouver - Obviously, the biggest hope for the city of Calgary is additional money towards a new arena.

I heard there was already noise that the stadium was going to cost way more than originally expected?

Unless it's in the form of a decent-interest loan cities should just not be giving sports teams money to build barns.

Maybe the Flames should try to tap into the revenue stream that is the NHL. I mean, Gary keeps saying that the NHL has 30 viable franchises and the league is sound financially, gotta spend money to make money hey Gar, how about investing in a new barn for the Flames?!?
