OV is +1 tonight (along with a 1 goal and 1 apple). The goal was on the PP (51st).

Really good, in-depth looks at the Capitals' woes over the past few seasons from the Washington Post. Really good read with some stuff I don't think fans knew about heretofore.

Without saying it directly, it comes to one pretty strong conclusion - McPhee gots to go.

Oates too. Sounds like a meddlesome, micromanaging nitpicker.

I'm perfectly okay with teams wanting to play the Pens. I'm always more comfortable being underestimated...sure is better than being the favorite.

This has been the story of the Jackets' season. And i expect it to be exactly the same in the post season. Especially if we draw the Penguins.

Of course he could.

Leonsis needs to stay in his office. The entire chain is a bunch of micromanagers. They need someone who will build a hockey team for the ice and not the fans. The way you win over DC area sports fans is by signing big names and selling jerseys. And that shit never works out for any team. They need to stop chasing impact trades and FA signings and just get some God Damned hockey players.

This franchise dominated the AHL for a few years. And now at the top level, they have bupkis.

Guy Flaming ‏@TPS_Guy
As per @CHN_AdamWodon, Boston College senior Kevin Hayes won't sign with Chicago, He's UFA Aug 15th. Will #Flames reunite that entire line?

I don't like it when guys don't sign with the team that drafted them. That said, the Flames should definitely put in a call.

Marty St. Louis isn't a big guy, Mats Zuccarello is tiny, Danny Briere isn't a big guy, Jordan Schroeder (okay, not a great example), but I think you see where I'm going.

fair enough.

Vancouver (35-34-11, 81 pts)
Trailing Dallas by 10 points
Games remaining: 2 (1 Home, 1 Away)
vs. Quality teams: 0, vs. West: 2

this is on ESPN

I actually laughed. Calgary is a far more quality team right now than the Canucks

That ESPN NHL message board utilizies quality technology...

...from 1994

Edit: The Flames actually haven't been playing all that great as of late, some great goaltending from Ramo has saved their bacon (and they did lose 5-3 last night to Winnipeg).

that was the jets last game as well, I just need 2 losses here to keep us firmly planted where we are. I know the draft isnt fantastic but every position helps, I dont want moral victories here, I want a 8-1 drubbing by the oilers tonight and a 5-0 drubbing by the flames so torts is not even making it to monday
