We need more hp checks jstew, It's a lost art in the game and I feel too many players are cautious about throwing them. I've seen some good one's thrown but for some reason these pansy ass ref's call penalties when they are done.

It is definitely a lost art...but I must say I hate that I've seen a few low bridges these years too. Hip on hip, or hip on thigh is fine. Hip on knee and below, not a fan.

I never like seeing a player go for the knees but there was a time when you would see 4 or 5 good solid hip checks thrown during a game and you don't see it as often. Like I said in a few occasions I have seen good hip checks thrown and penalties were called for it and that's BS lets not turn the sport into flag hockey for gods sakes.

Maybe Martin Erat for David Rundblad? I like Rundblad a lot, he just doesn't get to play as much because they're stacked on defense in Phoenix

If the Yotes are looking for scoring help, why are they interested in Erat?

Well Erat did play in a defensive system with Barry Trotz and was good for the most part, and Phoenix is similar to an extent

Mike Gillis made a comment the other day that there really isn't many big deals out there, just lateral moves here and there - this might be it

By the way Cobie, my first response wasn't directed at you, it was directed at that dingleberry Brian Lawton.

I can see a guy like Matt Moulson of the Sabres being on the move, he is a UFA at the end of the season, so it shouldn't take much to acquire him, but he could help out a team that is having trouble putting the puck in the net.

Where do you think he'd fit best?

I'd actually bet on Moulson being moved.

There should be considerable demand for this guy. He's scoring at a 50 point pace on a Sabres team that is on pace to only score 143 goals. I bet he get's a late 1st and B level prospect or a good prospect and a 2nd rounder.

This guy knows how to play with great offensive players. I'd say he ends up next Getz and Perry in ANA or next to Big Jim Thornton in SJ.

I'd like to see him with the Kings if possible - playing with Anze Kopitar

I don't know if Tom Sestito is a long term solution on the Canucks PP, but as far as hands are concerned, Moulson >>> Sestito. Maybe the expansion cousins swing a deal (Canucks aren't exactly lighting the lamp these days either).

He will be moved. They're gonna flip him for a first rounder for sure. A contender will pay the price and he's worth it. Acquiring him was such a smart move by them. Already got a first and can now flip him in return for one. Ott and Moulson will be dealt before the deadline, IMO.
