Too lazy to look for the Edmonton thread.

I guess being old, no longer good and still playing deserves an award?
Nothing against Marleau but what did he overcome except being awarded a contract to play hockey at an advanced age.

Edmonton fans and media wonder why they are constantly mocked - Well, the above certainly doesn't help.

/Jonathan Willis is the lone exception, that guy is good.

He should've retired after his second season with the Leafs. Everything since then has been a joke.

GREAT THING THAT GENIUS GM LOU LAMORIELLO GAVE HIM A THIRD YEAR ON THAT CONTRACT THOUGH! LEAFS SHOULD'VE NEVER FIRED HIM!

Not that it matters much, speaking of GENIUS GM's, HOF GMJR giving up a conditional pick for him. He added no value to the Penguins.

That condition was a 3rd round pick and would have become a 2nd if, get this and don't laugh,...if the Penguins won the Cup last season.
And that 3rd round pick ended up being flipped for Ryan Donato. Not that Donato is much of a player but he would have added some sense of talent on the Penguins bottom lines vs Marleau barely playing.

I mean the Pens would've still had a Cup-calibre goalie AND a 2nd round pick if GMJR didn't galaxy-brain himself into turning the Golden Knights into perennial contenders.

He settled the canasta game disputes?

I like 1 and 3, not sure what he's getting at with 2.

Or they could, you know, apply the cap for the whole season and playoffs. Maybe up it by 5-10 % since the roster can go larger.

I would put a cap of most play AT LEAST 15 games

It takes a certain level of hubris for the Hawks to include the following:

"Based on our investigation, we believe the allegations against the organization lack merit and we are confident the team will be absolved of any wrongdoing.”

Ah, the good old "we investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong"

Ah, the good old "we investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong"

I mean, I'm no lawyer or communications expert, but I would have replaced the above with the following:

“The Chicago Blackhawks take the allegations asserted by a former player very seriously. As this is a pending litigation matter, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further.”

Loved this one:
Following Colorado’s playoff elimination and Landeskog’s poor showing in the Vegas series, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post speculated that Sakic could offer the captain a “take it or leave it” deal at $5 million per year.

Yeah, force him to the open market. we have been lacking in the Swedish Dreamboats per 60 stat.

Assuming they trade Kadri (lol) all Sakic has to do to fit everyone in is trade Girard for picks in a year or two. I don't really understand where the Avs' "cap crunch" is happening.

My only thought is paying Grubauer, Makar and IF Johnson comes off LTIR, then if they resign Saad and Landeskog. Might get tight having $18 Million available.
