Gonna be a long night. Pens are facing their nemesis, the human stop sign.

Ha. It worked.

What also worked is I paused the game down 0-3, went to the grocery store and came back to a 4-3 score.

Halak failed so miserably he couldn't even break his stick over the crossbar.

That Boston top line is all kinds of good. 5 pts. for Marchand last night.

My GF grew up in rural NC and as a result was - and I know this is shocking - not a hockey fan growing up. Fast forward to adulthood and she's in the medical field and dating a hockey fan.

Watching the Sabres game the other night they showed some old footage (they were doing 70s night as part of the 50th anniversary season) and her jaw pretty much hit the floor seeing all the guys with no helmets. Was more astounded when I mentioned MacT playing into the 90s with no helmet.

"I knew they didn't wear helmets, but to actually see it...wow"

/Cool story bro

You should show her the goalies without masks!
Think I read that there were only about a dozen players left without a visor now.

well on his way to another 100 pt season.
Yep another good season for him.

Any news on McAvoy? The replay does no justice on how hard he hit his head.

Simmons still trying to carry water for him I see.

"This is almost heartbreaking: The great and honoured Jonathan Toews, playing more than 19 minutes a night with the Chicago Blackhawks, is 437th in NHL scoring in the early going. Chicago is tied for last in the Western Conference … Toews’ wingmate and salary mate, Patrick Kane, ranks 127th in league scoring. Toews is just 31, Kane is just 30"

One of these guys is on pace for 67 points and one is on pace for 15 points. While I'm sure that the Blackhawks would like better results from both of them I'm not sure that the results so far or the situations are all that comparable.

Simmons once again trying to group these guys together so that Toews doesn't seem like he's doing so badly. From tomorrow's column:

"Keith is now old, Seabrook slow and old, Crawford no longer sharp, Toews and Kane signed long-term for $21 million and not living up to their current contracts."

76 point pace vs. 31 point pace. It all gets lumped together under "not living up".

I bet Ryan Reaves works for The Cosmopolitan, and this is all part of their collection efforts

Just don't make that bet at The Cosmopolitan or he'll come looking for you after the game tomorrow night
