Feel bad for Grigorenko. He came over, worked his ass off in a genuine attempt to resurrect his career. Looked solid early on, but got saddled with a coach who couldn't decide if he was a top line sniper, Middle six puck distributor or 4th line grinder. Sometimes he played all three roles in the same game.

Gonna look like he failed, and I think practically any other team he would have had success. I hope someone grabs him for his sake. He is never getting back in this lineup.

That 2012 first round had a lot of duds. Grigorenko is probably wishing he stayed in Russia.

Let me also note 7 of those 2012 first rounders either are playing or have played for the Penguins.

For his contract I see someone claiming him.

With our luck, it will be Chicago, and he'll score a hat trick in the game that eliminates us.
Sadly I see that happening.

Also they really blew a chance of making him a great trade chip. If they had just been consistent playing him middle six he could have scored enough to have a market since he is on a cheap expiring contract.

Torts? Mismanaging assets?

League probably figured he took enough punishment in the fight last night, but that's really not the point. Do we want elbows to the head to go unpunished (not even a penalty called).

Brad May is still not forgiven for not tuning Steve Moore after the headshot on Naslund.
He was on the ice at the time, and gave Moore a gentle hug. Would have been over and done with 2 + 5 + 10

I’m not sure I buy this. I don’t know when they wound up doing it this year with all the date changes for the draft/UFA etc. but these lists usually have to be submitted by players around that time no? They didn’t even know 100% there’d be a Canadian division until like a month before the season.

"Some"

So maybe one guy did it and this guy ran with it. And that one guy likely just hates Canada.
