More worrying from the St Lou angle. Now they have to get into the goalie market. Binny ain't gonna cut it. And moving Allen doesn't give them enough room to secure Pietrangelo.

Matt Larkin was musing Tarasenko could be a LTIR guy and a Schwartz trade could happen too.

Was there really that much of a market for Jake Allen where the Blues could pull off a cap dump by completing a hockey trade?

Like, MTL could've found a Jake Allen around pretty much any corner this offseason but instead paid a price for one while adding a decent cap hit this season. Not that they're tight-up on the cap but they could've found a replacement level G for $2 mil less and used that space to help some cap strapped teams out for a price.

Just weird to me.
