Lest we forget (crappy resolution, but the musical accompaniment is a nice touch...

After watching last night's Oilers - Flames game, man that entire team is Connor McDavid. No wonder he has to play nearly half the game because the Oilers are a complete dumpster fire without him. As for Draisaitl, geez that 8.5 million per season is a lot of money for a guy who can't do much without playing alongside McDavid.

Maybe @DragonfromTO is right, maybe he does deserve the Hart?

I think there is a lesson here for Toronto, as they go to sign Nylander this offseason.

If at the end of the season the only argument against McDavid winning the Hart is “but the Hart winner should play for a playoff team!” then he should win the Hart and those people should not be allowed to vote for the Hart winner.

This will be moot since the true reason McDavid will not win the Hart is because Freddie Anderson is the true MVP and will get all the votes. EDM lack of team success is irrelevant !

What do you guys think, should you be able to throw the puck past an opponent to yourself leading to a goal? I don't think there's anything currently in the rule book that prevents it, so pretty heads up play by Krejci.

As long as he doesn't carry or close his hand on the puck, yes. Should stay legal.

I did find this little nugget:

The territorial advantage phrasing seems to apply in this case (and I didn't know it was worded in the rule book quite that way).

But I would argue that the fact that he didn't skate with it negates that. The rule doesn't state where he has to put it down.

It's as clear as the goaltender interference rule

Looked like a hockey play to me. I say paltry fine at the worst.

Yeah, the Oilers are Mcdavid and little else. Hearing too that McLellan's on the hot seat soon as well.
