Congrats to Thornton on 1500 games. Would be good to see him get a Cup before he retires.

As long as he doesn't score 4 goals along the way, I'm good with that.

saw it ... was pretty heartwarming

big ovation during a stoppage in play ... short video tribute of career highlights ... camera shows fans giving standing o ... loud cheers ... camera pans to Joe ... you can see hes getting misty eyed ... turns to all the fans and lifts a glove to wave at every corner of the arena ... and you dont have to be a lip reader to see with each wave hes mouthing the words "Fuck Dallas"

it was beautiful
If you looked real close - when he blinked you could see ''fuck Dallas' written on his eyelids.

Ya, I’m no fancy stats guru but this doesn’t seem like a sustainable way to keep winning.

i keep waiting for the shoe to drop ..... aaaaany game now, the next injury, keep having to claw back, etc
can't keep relying on Gubberson's offense :)

17 games is getting less and less of a small sample size.
plus, they are pretty fun to watch more nights than not.

@esls79 leading the chants?!?

You couldn't pay me to go to a Ducks game this year.

Besides, I left mid-city LA at 5:30 pm and I didn't get to Orange County until after 8 pm. I did remember to put the game on the radio with about 3 minutes to go in the first period. The Wild were outshooting the Ducks 18-4 at that time. I quickly turned the game off and listened to X-mas music the rest of the way.

Is it just me or have there been more blowout games than usual to start this season?!?

ok, maybe that was the dropped shoe
Gubberson and Little Things still unstoppable, and even that it isn't enough
EP40 with only one assist in the past two games. what a bust.

The Habs impressed me tonight. After the first I gave them no chance to win. But they keep coming

Interesting, the Devils had a 95 Cup Champs reunion game back in 2015 and Marty played forward.

I've seen Kirk McLean play forward everytime there was a charity (police/fire vs alumni) event as well

"How to pad a word count"

San Jose Sharks goaltending coach Johan Hedberg, who retired in 2013 after playing 373 NHL games in 12 seasons, had no problem putting his pads on to give Sharks No.1 Martin Jones a break in practice last season. But the 45-year-old would rather face NHL shooters half his age than play goal in charity games or alumni events.

"I think that's what everybody feels," said San Jose Sharks goaltending coach Johan Hedberg, who retired in 2013 after 373 NHL games over 12 seasons.

Like a lot of NHL goalies, the style of game that awaits after retirement is a big factor for Hedberg, 45. Alumni games don't have the same intensity or structure NHL goalies channeled and relied on their entire career. Hedberg had no problem putting on pads to give Sharks No.1 goalie Martin Jones a break in practice last season, but he has no interest beyond facing current NHL shooters.

I'd say something about the zebras in San Jose tonight, but my mom always told me if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.
