On this night in 1987...

I went to a Canucks-Habs game like that once.
Massive snow storm just started, so I left langley at about noon.
normally a 30 min drive, took 4 hours.
then spent about 3 hours in the bar across from the Coliseum while snow continued to pile up.

walked into the arena and just picked any seats down in the reds.
what the hell, picked different seats for each period.

and the amazing thing is, the Canucks actually won!
a very rare feat in the first 30 years of our franchise

Follow-up on the Torts injured at practice that esls posted earlier:

I guess Rene Bourque was flying in practice when he hit a rut in the ice and went sliding into Torts who took a nasty spill. Apparently, it was serious enough that Torts went to hospital. I'm no fan of Torts, but you don't want to see anybody hurt.

Is it wrong that, by and large, i haven't minded Cox in the past year or so? He seems to have shifted a long way from the stupidity that largely pervaded his work for 20 years.

Regardless, he's right about McGrattan.
