They did not. They signed him to a two-way contract then waived him.

The Leafs claimed him of course; since he got hurt on Dec. 18 the Leafs have won 5 of 6; they had won 10 of 24 from the time he joined to that point.
my bad ... i just googled avalanche and waivers lol

Millsy's trade value has probably never been higher than it is right now - Send him back to Buffalo for the young Nylander kid.

I chuckled but I'm crying inside.

Colorado hasn't made any claims this season, but AZ made one on Dec. 11 (Josh Jooris) and then again yesterday. There were no other claims in-between. Maybe they don't go down?

interesting

When I arrived at practice tonight to pick the boy up, it was about 20 minutes in. The skaters were doing Herbies and the goalies were doing Iron Crosses at Center. It went on for another 20 minutes before they went into drills.

Seems there was a bit of a confrontation in the locker room. The assistant coach is from Pittsburgh originally, and apparently tried to quell the boys' excitement by saying that if the Jackets do tie the record it's not the same because the Penguins did it when there was no shootout.

One of the boys said that they also did it when there was no salary cap so they could just buy all the best players instead of now when every team is basically the same. Lots of arguing ensued. Then bag skating.

Pens fans... so sensitive.

I see Prout is a scratch, that's too bad, I was hoping for a repeat performance on Looch tonight.

Somebody should have put the assistant coach's gear on a FedEx truck bound for Kansas City you know, as a joke only to pull it off at the last minute.

I tried to get my son to just let one through his legs in practice without trying to stop it and then yelling "FLEURY!", but the coach would probably bite his face off. :)

Dreger was on 1050 at noon and said the Habs won the Subban-Weber trade, that Weber is a better player and is showing it this year with his incredible play for the Habs.

Shea Weber has 21 pts in 37 games, Subban has 17 in 29. Only 11 of Weber's 21 pts have come since Nov. 1.
Weber is 31, Subban is 27.
Weber could arguably be the most impactful player now, but those 4 years are important when it's all said and done.

Hmmm - Put up some big numbers in the Dub with Portland, but hasn't been able to replicate it in the NHL

he has to be better than Chaput, no?
do it. do it. just do it. do it.

there was a re-set at some point where it went from last season's final standings to current.
not sure the timing of that, or whether it comes into play.

It's amazing how few MSM guys are aware of this, or at the very least enjoy discussing it. Like, nobody is saying Shea Weber is a shit player today or will be tomorrow. Nobody is saying he isn't good value for money at the moment. Why are they out to make it sound as if half of the hockey world think he blows and the other half think he's god?
